While I agree that you can’t turn off the gay, what about all the people who ship Quinn/Rachel? You can’t turn off the straight.
People will ship what they want, it doesn’t mean they want it to be canon. Let them enjoy what they want.
But nobody represses being straight. No one stays in a gay relationship even though they may be straight, or is scared of acknowledging feelings for someone of a different gender.
If Quinn and Rachel had feelings for each other, it would be weird and feel wrong for them, so it would make sense for them to date guys.
I totally agree with what you’re saying about leaving ships alone, I just do think that Faberry makes more sense than Santana/Sebastian.
